Why "home to me" ?

So, I realized that I have been using the phrase "home to me" as the title for a few of my online endeavors, but I definitely never explained it (except when I first renamed my Livejournal, after having the same user name on there for  several years - one that I never thought I would outgrow. But I did). It's also the name that I used for my Twitter (which I've not updated in close to a year. THAT got boring fast).

Basically, the line came from a song. But I really can't figure out WHICH song it came from exactly. I just know that I kept hearing the same line over and over in some of the songs that I was listening to. It probably really stuck out in my head after the trip that April and I made from Nashville to East Tennessee for a Lady Vols game (such a fun random weekend!), when she decided that her goal for the weekend was to make me listen to the "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days" soundtrack over and over and over again, until I knew the song "Feels Like Home" by heart. Which I do now, thank you very much. I realized the line was coming up a lot in a lot of songs that I liked. So, I adopted it as a new screen name. I only use it when it comes to creative expression websites. On other websites I am still BO-RING, and go by "iamsidny." Creative, right?

Anyway, here are some of the songs with the line "home to me" that made me adopt the name.

"Give me a tin roof
A front porch and a gravel road
And that's home to me
It feels like home to me"
- Little Big Town, Boondocks

"When your long day is over
And you can barely drag your feet
The weight of the world is on your shoulders
I know what you need
Bring it on home to me"
- Litle Big Town, Bring it On Home

"I hear the dancin' of the raindrops
While we tumble in the hayloft
You're laughing at my bad jokes
Singing oh so sweet
I hear the creaking of the screen door
Bare feet on a wooden floor
But to hear you whisper my name
Is all i really need
Cause your voice sounds like home to me"
- Blue County, Sounds Like Home

"If you knew how lonely my life has been
And how long I've been so alone
And if you knew how I wanted someone to come along
And change my life the way you've done
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I come from
It feels like home to me, it feels like home to me
It feels like I'm all the way back where I belong"
- Chantal Kreviazuk, Feels Like Home

"The best things in life are free
It's been right here all the time
It's everything this home to me
Down on the county line"
Sugarland, County Line
