Throwback Thursday Stories

http://www.themomcreative.com/

I am going to link up today with The Mom Creative for Throwback Thursday Stories. I love this idea, and will try to do it every Thursday.

This wasn't terribly long ago, but sometimes it feels like it's been forever. This photo was taken on Christmas 2012.

From left to right are: my eldest brother Bill, my third-eldest brother Joe, my nephew Dominick, my dad, my niece Lilliana, me holding my niece Scarlett, and my second-eldest brother Mike (Mike is dad to Dominick, Lilliana and Scarlett).

This was the first time that all of us had ever been in a room together. It was the first time that I had been with my dad and all three brothers together since my mom passed away in October 2000. The photo is bittersweet to me now, because I wonder if we will all get a chance to spend another Christmas together. Between my demanding retail job, and the fact that Bill now lives in another country (he's worse than I am - I'll pack up and move to another state. He packed up and moved to Guatemala). Next year will be Dominick's last year of high school, and after that, who knows where he will go to start his own life as a grown-up?

I adore this photo. And the fact that one time, we were all able to get together.

  2. I love family photos. My immediate family isn't too difficult, but I've never been with all 5 of Jonathan's siblings at once. And we've been together something like 8 years.

    1. I'm glad it isn't just my family that has such a tough time getting together. Between me working in retail, and the job my brother Bill had, we never would make it home for Christmas. So glad that I managed to get home that year. I didn't know it then, but it probably will literally be the last Christmas we all spent together.
