Oh. Hello there.

So, I kind of forgot that I had this blog. And by "forgot," I mean that I have had so much craziness going on the last year and a half that this blog was the absolute last thing on my mind. Ready for it?

In September 2012, I lost the apartment I was living in. Bills piled up, and my time I'd spent unemployed, coupled with my much-lower-wage now that I had gone back to work, caused me to fall behind. I had to give up the cats, because there was no way I could keep them anymore. The dogs stayed by my side (I don't care how broke I am. They are my children. They go nowhere). I moved in with a friend, but couldn't keep my head above water there either, and ended up losing that place in January 2013.

Somehow I ended up in Maryland (because the only person kind enough to take me AND the dogs in was an ex-boyfriend). I transferred to a store there, and was lucky enough to find a store manager who actually created a position for me so that I could come into my store. She turned out to be one of the biggest blessings, as I wouldn't be where I am now without her letting me in. I worked at that store from February 2013 until November 2013, when I found out that I would be promoted to assistant manager at a store in Delaware. What?! Me?!

I am currently still working as an assistant manager (training lasted all of December and January, and I officially started in my store on February 7th). I am absolutely loving it so far, aside from a few random moments where I want to rip my hair out.

I am living in a very small town on Maryland's Eastern Shore, which works out fairly well for work, as it's only a thirty minute commute each way. When I first found out I was being promoted, I had considered moving closer to the new job, but I realized that I'd prefer to be far enough away from work that I am not constantly running into co-workers when I am out and about. We are renting a small three bedroom/two bathroom home. It's plenty big enough for the two of us and the dogs - and the dogs are loving our acre lot plus the huge lot of farm land that surrounds us. Champ especially loves to run around like a crazy wild dog - he even chased a herd of deer one day! I'm sure that when I eventually move away with the dogs, they're going to miss the freedom of all of this land, and the fact that they've not had to be on leashes for the better part of this year! We are about to renew our lease for another year, which works out fine for me. I am hoping that in around a year I will be ready to move on to bigger and better things. We'll see where the wind takes me. For now, it's nice to have someone to split bills with (as much as I miss the freedom of my own place), so I can save money for the first time in my life.

    1. Thanks, Kimmie! I've been around facebook and other such nonsensical place (read: shitty dating websites and craigslist), but kept forgetting to venture back over here.

Plus with my computer crapping out, I'm using my roommate's computer at the moment. Once I get back into having a computer, I will probably be more likely to post some fun/random/worthless stuff over here! :)
